Valor Eagle Eye Media is excited to share the Editorial Board for the 2023-2024 school year!
As a team, Eagle Eye Media is committed to growing this program and telling great stories. After updates made to the Media Department over the last year, we’re excited to launch our newest change – our Eagle Eye Editorial Board.
The Media department is excited to celebrate this group of student leaders that are paving the way for this new department. After applying, interviewing and receiving the position the Media Department is excited to see what these leaders will do! From running social media platforms, filming Valor events to supporting other reporters, these leaders are going to do it all.
This year’s media is split into two different departments with ten new leaders! Meet the leaders:
Editor in Chief :
Karenna Johnson
Kenna Johnson is also the Editor-in-Chief this year. She is a senior at Valor and moved from Minneapolis last summer. She is interested in art, culture and Chinese, and hopes to continue learning about these interests at Valor.
Sports Department:
Consisting of the largest group of reporters, the Sports Department is excited to cover Valor sports this year through interviews with athletes, coaches, trainers; highlight heels of our sports teams; and fun coverage of everyday sports life.
Sport Co-Directors:
Cooper Hanneman
Cooper Hanneman is a Junior at Valor Christian High School. Hanneman loves sports and enjoys playing basketball and football. Other than sports Cooper likes to hang out with friends, and watch sports.
Ryan Oblachinski
Ryan Oblachinski is a Junior at Valor Christian High School. Ryan plays for Valor’s Varsity Basketball Team. He is interested in athletics and continuing the work of media.
Sports Social Media Team:
Ducan Crespo
This year Duncan Crespo is a Junior at Valor Christian High School. He enjoys playing basketball, watching sports, and hanging out with friends. Duncan is excited to be a part of the Eagle Eye Media team this year!
Erick Nordstrom
Erick Nordstrom is a sophomore at Valor this year. Erick is a part of the basketball team. He is interested in pursuing video editing as a career and enjoys that Eagle Eye Media gives him the opportunity to grow in these skills.
Chase Mandes
Chase Mandes is a sophomore at Valor Christian High School. As a lifelong basketball player, Chase is a devoted member of Valor’s team. After being a part of Valor Sports Network last year, Chase excited to continue media this year.
Abby Wright
Arts and Features Department:
Covering arts, academics, clubs and more, Eagle Eye Media’s Arts and Features team is dedicated to shining a light on Valor’s amazing arts/academic opportunities and students.
Arts Director:
Sam Routzon
Sam Routzon is a Junior at Valor Christian High School. He is involved in Theatre, Performing Arts Conservatory, and creative writing. Sam is excited to pursue journalism at Valor and what it looks like through an arts focused lens.
Features Director:
Charlotte Hass
Charlotte Hass is a second-year media student and senior at Valor High School and a senior this year. The Feature Director, Charlotte enjoys creative writing, baking, listening to music, and running. She hopes to study dramatic writing and film in college.
Arts and Features Social Media Editor:
Daimian Desiderio
Daimian Desiderio is a Junior at Valor who joined Eagle Eye Media this year for a new and exciting challenge. He is in the S.T.E.M., Humanities, and Business endorsement, as well as being the Theatre Chaplain, and he hopes he can help make Valor a better community.
Digital Editor:
Franklin Hinds
Franklin Hinds is a senior this year. He is also the longest Valor Media student in the class. Franklin likes to play Ultimate frisbee and is a member of Valor’s track and field team. Skilled digitally, Franklin is Valor Eagle Eye’s digital lead.
