Pressure is a universal feeling many athletes must face, especially at the high level of varsity. This story takes us through this pressure in the setting of the girls basketball program. Not only do we hear from two varsity athletes on what pressure is like for them and how they cope with it, but also the way their head coach caters to their needs when the face this pressure. While interviewing senior basketball captain, Quinn Vansickle, we get to see the journey of a committed athlete and the way pressure may be different for someone headed to a D1 program like Pepperdine University. Freshman, Francesca Liberatore, gives her insight on the way being a freshman on varsity puts pressure on her. Lastly, Head Girls Basketball Coach Jessika Caldwell breaks down the little things she does in order to combat the anxieties her team may face especially as they compete at such a high level.
