As the new school year starts, the Valor Flik Program has a new leader. He brings a lot of new ideas, which are improving our daily food in multiple areas: the taste of it, the menu, and nutrition. Food is always a big part of high school life, as we study better when we eat better. A lot of Valor students have already noticed the changes this year, and are interested in hearing some more specific details. Valor Media reporters interviewed the new executive chef of the Filk program, Stephen Cherry, to get more formal and detailed information on the goals and challenges, changes, and student comments on the program this year.
The most interesting topic is the student’s voice since it’s closely related to us. According to Mr. Cherry, the program staff are open to all kinds of comments or suggestions. He encourages students to talk to him during lunch or even after school about all the questions, comments, and changes we want to make.
If you ever want to add something or change our daily menu, remember to go to the commons during lunch, at the teacher and student window, to talk to Mr.Cherry! He will always be there and listen to you!
In addition, Mr. Cherry also mentions that the Flik program is trying to be more well-known among students by attending more public meetings in school, like communities and assemblies. The program will continue to grow and progress to better provide food for everyone in the school.
