Cecilia Liu and Avery Crabtree brought to you by Eagle Eye Media present Hands of Jesus. Hands of Jesus is a studentled service club founded by Bryce Dayton and Lili Farris for all grades at Valor. It serves as an opportunity for students to volunteer in the Denver Metro Area community for those who have not had the opportunity to serve on a mission trip with Valor, or have and wish to do more. Inspired by a Valor Discovery trip, Bryce and Lili decided to start Hands of Jesus to provide serving opportunities and benefit everyone in the community. Eagle Eye reporter attended one of the services in January and got some interesting aspects of the club activities. Volunteers got to attend all-stars at the Jubilee, where they played various games, sang songs, and prayed together. They also buddied up with young kids and adults with special needs to have fun with them for a night. According to Lili Farris, it is also a joy and a responsibility to help others since “everyone’s looking for help. There’s always somewhere to help”. Also, it brings joy to everyone since “everyone is grateful for [others’ help]”. Even though the Hands of Jesus provides great opportunities to Valor students, participation is still a key problem. The club leaders encourage club members to actively participate in the events since currently the club population outnumbers the event attendants a lot. The service is not only about service hours, but it is also about being a great contribution to the community, being like the Good Samaritan.

About the Contributors
Cecilia Liu, Co-Editor
Cecilia Liu is a Sophomore here in Valor. One interesting fact is that she is an international student in school, and originally from China. She enjoys her time here in Valor and Media class, in which she gets to know more people, learn media skills and strengthen her relationship with God. Media is a good way to tell the school’s story and get closer to the culture both of the school and America. She is looking forward to the new year and all the stories that will be made in this wonderful class.
