Mrs. Tysdal spent 28 years as a broadcast journalist with TV stations across the United States most recently with the FOX/CW affiliate in Denver. Natalie is the recipient of Associated Press Awards, The prestigious Gracie Allen Award for Women in Journalism, and an Emmy Award for her coverage of the Aurora Theater tragedy in Colorado. In 2006, after extensive education reporting, she started an elementary school with the knowledge she gathered from top education experts.

Most recently, Mrs. Tysdal started a podcast and YouTube channel with a focus on families and health, where her guests include experts, authors, doctors, psychologists, and leaders from around the world. She joined Valor to bring her passion for teaching the next generation of journalists about how we consume news and why the information we put out matters more than ever.

Mrs. Tysdal and her husband have three children, including Valor alumni (Classes of '19 and '22).
